Hello, Tumblr!

 My name is Benny. I am a 9 1/2 week old Welsh Pembroke Corgi. I was born in Oklahoma, but I moved to Washington yesterday. Can you believe I’ve already flown on a plane all by myself? I am quite rad.

On this Tumblr you’ll be able to find my daily thoughts, unbelievably cute photos, and fun/useful tips on raising a dog. My first task is to master going to the bathroom outside, but I’ll get the hang of it soon enough. I have a feeling I’m not in Oklahoma anymore…

The gal in the photo is my mom, Katherine. I don’t know her that well yet, but I’m already herding her around the house. She thinks it’s so cute that I follow her, but really I’m controlling her! I was bred for herding after all.

But for now, I’m just going to relax and learn all I can about my new home. Stay tuned for more corgi cuteness!

Sometimes I fall asleep in weird positions; does that ever happen to you? This afternoon I was sleeping on my side, which eventually became my back, and then my head wound up halfway under the couch as well.

Oh well, I sure felt rested afterwards! (Except for when my mom came home and thought something was wrong with me…)

Wow…it has sure been a long day. After a couple of hours of tug-o-war and walks around the neighborhood, I’m all tuckered out. Dad says I make a good arm rest; what do you think?

But don’t worry. As soon as I wake up I’m going to munch on Dad’s laptop and the TV remote….hehe.

Hey everybody! Sorry I’ve been absent a few days. My dad is now on winter break so we are getting some much needed play time in!

Yesterday we went to the beach down the street from our house. It was the first time I’d seen an ocean! It was a bit scary when the ferry came by and made wake, but other than that I had a good time. Mom even came to pick us up since I was tired, but not too tired to smile big for this photo!

Later today we’re going to get a Christmas tree. I wonder what that will be like…

Today I went with my parents to get a Christmas tree for my mom’s parents’ house. It’s huge! I wasn’t able to help much with the decorating, but I did try to eat some of the branches.

Oh, and my mom and dad forced me to take a photo with them. I love them and all, but flash isn’t my friend at the moment.

My mommy ended up being too busy with Christmas errands and the like to take photos of me today, so here’s another cute shot of me at the local beach. Unfortunately it’s more rocks than sand, but I like licking the salt off the rocks. Normally Mom & Dad would tell me to stop, but they figure it’s better for me than trying to eat abandoned shells.

I promise I’ll get some new photos up tomorrow!

Well…it turns out my parents aren’t as smart as they thought they were. Dad bought me rawhide 2 days ago and I’ve been chomping on it, only to find out today that I was never supposed to have it in the first place! Yes, apparently it’s very bad for puppies and my diarrhea today was a big indicator of my parents’ naiveness. Oh well, at least they’ve learned their lesson and I’ll just have to wait a few more months to enjoy rawhide deliciousness!

The good news is I have a vet appointment Thursday afternoon, so if anything else is wrong with me we will find out ASAP.

Good morning!

I was being a bad boy this morning, chewing on everything in sight, from the garden hose to my mom’s pajama pants. Guess it’s time for a timeout in the kennel for me.

But I’m so adorable when I’m playing innocent…

Today my parents taught me how to go down stairs. Given my height and what not, stairs generally frighten me. The only step I really haven’t mastered yet is the first one leaving our house—just look at that thing!

Other than that, I have a vet’s appointment tomorrow. It technically isn’t my first, but it’s my first with my new parents…so we’ll see how that goes. At least all of my no. 2’s today were solid! (TMI?)

Hi everybody! Today I’m going to the vet’s office, so wish me well! At least I seem to have gotten over my fear of riding in the car. I do pretty well so long as Mom & Dad keep me on one of their laps and far away from the travel kennel. (That thing is so small—I hate it!)

I’ll let you know how well I did at the vet in a little bit.

And yes, my mom did take this while driving. Bad Mom.

Well…I just got home from the vet…

And I did great! That’s right, I’m a totally healthy, happy puppy. I weigh 9 pounds, 4 ounces—okay, I might need to go on a bit of a diet—but other than that I am the epitome of corgi perfection. I didn’t like going to the vet all that much, but everyone there was really nice, gave me plenty of attention, and sent me home with some treats. (The ones they gave me during my visit were kind of gross, as you can tell by the pieces I left behind…)

Daddy says I’m becoming quite an expensive Christmas gift for Mom, but at least we know for sure that I am healthy and that the rawhide didn’t hurt me!

Can you believe my dad is doing work on his time off? Yeah, me neither.

But check out what my back legs can do! Yep, I’m one flexible pup. Mom thinks it’s the neatest thing, but usually when she gets out the camera to take a photo of my cross-legged slumber I wake up and move around. She finally got a photo yesterday though; she’s so sneaky!

Happy Christmas Eve, everyone! I’ve been spending most of my day sleeping, mostly because I know I have a party in store for me tonight and partially because I’m a puppy. It’s a rough life.

But I did get to open my first present this afternoon: a Christmas ribbon necktie. It’s quite ridiculous and I’d rather chew it than wear it, but I’m sure Mom will force me to wear it for at least a photo or two tonight…

Merry Christmas, everyone! Unfortunately, my mom & dad are leaving to visit my dad’s family in Montana for this upcoming week. My mom’s going to keep posting some older photos, but there won’t be any technically new photos until New Year’s Eve.

I’m going to be staying with my uncle Thomas. Hopefully Mom & Dad have a safe trip and next time they’ll take me along too!
